The Friends officially organized in 1970 as the Friends of Scarborough Public Library (FOSL). For 55 years, the Friends organization has supported the Library, through its advocacy and through its commitment to provide supplemental funding in support of the Library's endowment, programming, and collections. Friends organized events are offered free-of-charge to the community and reflect the interests of both adults and children.

Dues and Donations
Whether you are a member, donor, or volunteer at book sales and events your support has been and will continue to be needed and appreciated. We are so grateful for your many contributions. They have kept us going through the last few difficult years. Without your support we could not offer funding to the library for the many services we all enjoy.

Become a Member, Volunteer, Donate!
When you become a member, or as we call it a Friend, you are part of a group that supports the library in a special way. You will receive invites to Friends social events such as speaker talks, luncheons, and the annual meeting in October. Your ideas for future events and programs are most welcome.
